Checklist of Common Errors in Uploading Theses/Dissertations


First, congratulations on passing the oral exam.
Besides completing your research, another challenging part will be finishing your theses/dissertations.

Before clicking the "Submit" button in the Submission System, please take a look at the 15 common errors made in theses/dissertations below. This may increase your chances of being approved.

  • Are the pages in correct order ?Front Cover, Abstract, Acknowledgements, Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, Body, References, and Appendices.
  • Is the date on the Front Cover correct?Please refer to Annex 1 of "Format of Thesis and Information of Departure Procedure" from Office of Academic Affairs.
  • Is the format of the date correct?e.g. 中華民國 1104 月.
  • Do the Mandarin/English thesis/dissertation titles on the Front Cover, in the thesis-dissertation system, and in the Degree Approval match?Including upper/lowercase letters, symbols, and halfwidth/fullwidth forms.
  • Are watermarks inserted?Should take up 30 to 40% of the pages with the scale unchanged.
  • Are DOIs inserted?
  • Are there blank pages without page numbers?If so, please remove them.
  • Are Abstract, Acknowlegments, Table of Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, Body, References, and Appendices listed in Table of Contents?
  • Are there missing chapters in Table of Contents?
  • Do the numbers of pages of the chapters listed in Table of Contents match those of the content of your document?
  • Does the format of the chapters titles listed in Table of Contents match that of the content of your document?Including upper/lowercase letters, symbols, and halfwidth/fullwidth forms.
  • Are there figures or tables in the Body of your document that are not included in List of Figures or List of Tables?
  • Do the numbers of pages listed in List of Figures and List of Tables match those of the content of your document?
  • Does the format of the titles listed in List of Figures and List of Tables match that of the content of your document?Including upper/lowercase letters, symbols, and halfwidth/fullwidth forms.
  • Does the material you're pasting on the ETDS match your thesis/dissertation?
  • Do you provide list of figures/tables in “table of contents” column when you’re pasting on the ETDS?
