The Rules for Using CYCU Chang Ching Yu Memorial Library Study Rooms

  1. Rules are formulated in accordance with Article 23 of CYCU Chang Ching Yu Memorial  Library Management Policies.
  2. CYCU Chang Ching Yu Memorial Library (hereafter referred to as “the Library”) provides 12 study rooms to be borrowed on a daily basis. Online reservation is not available.
  3. CYCU faculty and graduate students (Prospective graduate students must present proof of registration) are eligible for borrowing study rooms according to The Rules for Using CYCU Chang Ching Yu Memorial Library Study Rooms (hereafter referred to as“the Rules”).
  4. Patron who borrows a study room is prohibited to transfer room with others. Study room is strictly reserved for academic use.
  5. Quietness is minimum requirement for using study room. Loud voice or other misbehaviors (such as posting or hanging stuff on wall, door or window) will not be allowed. Any violation will cause suspension of using study room for one month, or two months for greater violation.
  6. Patron who borrows a study room may bring the Library materials (except those from reference / periodicals /newspaper section) into the study room. Those materials need to be checked out if patron has kept them for more than one day. If Library staff locate library materials in the study room which are not checked out, they will then be put back to stacks.
  7. If patron leaves personal items inside study room when card key has been returned, the Library may remove them and will not be responsible for loss or damage. Furthermore, patron will be suspended for borrowing study room for one month, or two months for greater violation.
  8. Patron is required to borrow card key at the circulation desk in person with valid ID and ensure card key remained in safe hands. Janitor is allowed to enter to clean the study room without patron’s permission in advance.
  9. Patron who borrows a study room is required to return the card key, at the same day, to circulation desk before the Library closes. Patron will be fined with NT$50 for each day overdue and borrowing privilege will be suspended. If patron loses card key, a replacement fee of NT$500 will be imposed.
  10. The Library is not responsible for the safety of the patron’s personal belongings in the study room.
  11. Due to certain circumstances, the Library may inform patron and suspend the usage of study rooms at all times.
  12. Matters not mentioned above in the Rules will be governed by corresponding rules of the Library. Upon failure to comply with the rules, patron will be deprived privilege of library use. Under serious circumstances, the Library will report to school for penalties.
  13. Rules and any amendment go into effect when passed by Library Committee Meeting.
