CYCU Chang Ching Yu Memorial Library Periodicals Area Rules

  1. All materials may only be used inside periodicals area. If patron needs photocopying service , there is a photocopier provided.
  2. If patron is in need to take periodicals out of this area, he/she has to fill out “application form for periodical photocopying” and hand it in along with a valid ID card to Library staff. ID card will be returned when borrowed items are checked in. Borrowed period is up to one hour. Patron will be deprived borrowing privileges if periodical(s) is checked in late twice.
  3. CYCU faculty, for teaching needs or other purposes, may present employee ID to borrow current issues of periodicals for up to 24 hours. ID card will be returned when borrowed items are checked in.
  4. Maximum number of volumes that can be borrowed is 10.
  5. Most periodicals in this area are placed in open shelves, therefore, patrons may freely choose what they need. Patrons are required to respect copyright law and do not photocopy entire issue.
  6. Certain periodicals and newspapers are placed in closed shelves. Patrons may present valid ID’s to borrow. (ID’s will be returned to patrons upon checking in periodicals)
  7. Patron may leave periodicals on table or service desk when finished. Library staff will put them back on stacks.
  8. All periodicals should be taken care of by all patrons. If any patron is found blurring or damaging any periodical in any form, he/she will be requested for compensation.
  9. Rules and any amendment go into effect when passed by Library Committee Meeting.
